A local family purchased Shady Oak Estates in 2023 and renamed the community Dune Creek. The neighborhood is undergoing significant renovations, including the replacement of older trailers with new singlewide homes sourced from local builders. The current owners have demolished nearly 20 old trailers, repaved the roads, removed debris, addressed problem residents, and begun installing aesthetic upgrades.
The community has a quiet, friendly atmosphere, and Dune Creek’s crime rate is extremely low. It’s just a short drive from essential shopping (Walmart, Meijer, Menards), downtown New Buffalo, the beach, and everything Michiana Shores has to offer.
